English RWBY v04e04: Of hope and strong emotions Por Jacinto Muñoz Publicado en 21/11/2016 7 minuto leer 0 0 (Lechería, November 21st. Yakuza Webzine).- After two long weeks RWBY is finally back and it returned hitting hard; the fourth episode of Volume 4 was really astonishing. By the way. Spoiler Alert!! From the very first minute, the strong emotions began while we found out that… Ozpin is still alive? Well, that depends on how you interpret the scene, but one thing is sure, that scene is a huge source for theories. In my opinion, there are two main ways to interpret that scene. First one is to assume that Ozpin is indeed dead, and that he somehow managed to transfer his conscience into the boy (this is not new, we saw that in X-Men: The Last Stand) Second one is to consider that Ozpin is in fact alive and that for some reason he decided to make contact with the boy. Honestly, considering that we know almost nothing, I feel attracted to option 1. Besides, that would reinforce Cinder’s words in episode 3. Anyway, we will have to wait until we get more clues (we didn’t even see what was in the mirror when the professor spoke); however, the important thing here is that, dead or not, Ozpin is not gone, and I’m sure he will return triumphantly. Like Qrow said, they could really use his help. Now it is time to talk about Yang and I have to say that I really loved her scene with her father and professors Port and Oobleck. In fact, when Taiyang made the comment regarding his daughter’s arm I held my breath like the others. The best thing in all of it was that despite Yang still has PTSD, the girl decided to fight her fears. Personally, I think the change was due what her father said about not being able to look for Ruby because he had to take care of her. On the other hand, Team RNJR is still on its journey without knowing that its “luck” has a lot to do with Qrow. Since volume 3’s finale many people wondered if Qrow was indeed looking after the guys; well, now we have the answer to that. Now, this is a conversation Finally, it is time to talk about one of the best scenes of this volume so far. That conversation between Qrow and Raven was simply great, with the flirting of the guy with the waitress included. That little chat allowed us to have a better idea of the siblings’ personalities; besides, it left us some important revelations. For example, it is now clear that Raven is not Salem’s ally. Furthermore, the group of bandits led by Raven were the ones who attacked Shion. Have you already joined the dots? No? Bandits, a strange symbol, Nora and Ren’s faces while they were looking at it. This opens a world of possibilities, and above all, it set the basis for a fight between Team RNJR and Raven, not to mention that Qrow would be in the middle of that battle. Nevertheless, I will dare to say that maybe Raven ends up joining forces with her brother; perhaps not on a permanent basis, but I truly believe that they will fight together against Salem. I don’t see Raven as a permanent villain, but as an antihero. And like there is always room for improvement, two things I have to remark. First one, in the close up between Yang and her father, Yang’s eyes looked weird. Second one, when Raven walked towards the portal, something didn’t look right with her movements. Nevertheless, she is totally a badass and I love her for that. In conclusion, another fantastic episode, I just can’t wait for the next one; besides, I still firmly believe that this volume is a transition one, therefore only a few things will be solved at the end of it. I think this arc will last for at least two more volumes. By Shougo Amakusa (@shougoamakusa) If you want to watch the show you can do it in the official website.
