(Lechería, December 6th. Yakuza Webzine).- After the Thanksgiving break RWBY is back! And with it my reviews have returned as well, so what are we waiting for? Let’s go!

This episode was focused almost entirely in Menagerie, therefore both Blake and Sun were the main characters. However, intrigues and conspiracy were present as they have been along this volume.

After all, the first thing we were told in this episode is how the Faunus have been set aside by humans into an isolated island far away from the kingdoms. Society have been really mean with them and thanks to that the White Fang was born.

Besides, we finally could meet Blake’s family and we knew that they have a high social status. Not to mention that Blake’s mother likes Sun, while Blake’s father totally dislikes him.

It was really funny to see the interactions between them, mainly because now we are able to see Blake’s cat ears on a regular basis. It is awesome to watch how the motion of those ears emphasizes her emotions. I must congratulate RWBY’s animation team for that, they are really doing a fantastic job.

A thing that I must highlight is that Blake’s family keeps some bonds with the White Fang; in fact, Ghira originally served as leader of the group before stepping down. Although that relationship is going to be revised now that Blake informed that the group was involved in the attack on Beacon.

I have to admit that for some instants I bought the explanation of the members of the group, and I thought that Adam was the leader of some kind of splinter group; luckily for me, almost immediately was known that it was just a lie said by them in order to trick Ghira and the others.

The change of pace starts to play against RWBY

Despite the staff have tried to move things with a couple of good combat sequences, it is quite evident that the plot is developing in a very slow way. Too slow if you ask me.

I think this is due to two factors; the main one is that unlike the other volumes, now there are multiple storylines being developed at the same time. The second one is that the current episode length is not enough to support this new format.

Honestly, I don’t see a solution for that in the short term, unless they increase episode length by at least a factor of 2. So, we will have to wait until those storylines collide in order to see again that fast pace we had in the previous volumes.

Now, of course, the final scene rose the emotions, not only our emotions but the waitress emotions as well. The poor girl will end up having a trauma. I don’t know you, but I am really looking forward to that encounter between Tyrian and Ruby; and it seems that the huntsman is very close to his prey.
