Yakuza Webzine).- Anime North 2017 is just around the corner and we could no be more thrilled. With a lot of activities to expect and so many celebrities to meet, we are going to briefly review what’s gonna happen in the event. First of all, the convention is huge. So, the staff has prepared a survival guide that can be downloaded here. As the guide shows, there are gonna be multiples events at the same time in different locations, so arrange your schedule with your friends to not miss a thing. First, let’s talk about celebrities and artists. This year Anime North 2017 counts with the presence of Kurth Lehner, senior character designer and development artist in pieces like Gargoyles, The Rescue Heroes, All Dogs Go To Heaven 2, Space Jam; and Elizabeth Forrest, a mokuhanga print artist with years of experience in her crafting. In the long list of artist, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (the last emperor, 1987) is going to be present, followed by several voice actors such as Anthony «Antfish» Sardinha, Derek Stephen Prince, Lex Lang, Marianne Miller and Martin «LittleKuriboh» Billany, the Japanese seiyuu Tomoyo Kurosawa among others. Secondly, we have to talk about some events that are scheduled as well. As I mentioned before, the place is huge and there will be multiples events occurring at the same time, so sharp those time management skills if you want to see them all – if you can. Anime North 2017: Friday On Friday, there will be a lot of cosplay related information going on in the international plaza area, such as Cosplay Positivity, Cosplay on a Budget and Wig Styling with Arda Wigs. On the Toronto Congress Center there will be panels dedicated to Steven Universe, Anime vs Science, Bad Fanfiction and Game of Thrones, just to mention a few of them. In the Crowne Plaza, there will be a lot of BJD and Doll crafters panels, like BJD 101 and Dolls controversial. Anime North 2017: Saturday On Saturday things get busier: In the International Plaza, there will be a workshop about 3D printing, another about Cosplay Posing and one covering Social Media for cosplayers, just to mention a few. On the Toronto Congress Center panels about One Piece, Mystic Messenger, Sailor Moon, and Avatar the last Airbender and the Legend of Korra are happening for sure. The last one is followed by a special demonstration on how to waterbend (!!!), following the instructions of a martial artist. And if you’re wondering if there is gonna be any 2B -my favorite waifu so far- related material beyond the artists alley, there will be a workshop about NieR and the Yokoverse in the Sheraton area as well. Anime North 2017: Sunday Sunday is no lazy day at all neither: In the Toronto Congress Center there will be a Studio Ghibli panel, another about Voltron: legendary defender and one more deep about anime and philosophy. In the Sheraton hotel, the Pokemon trend is ON with two panels about the Nintendo franchise: one covering the biology of the pocket monsters and another about Pokemon competitive for beginners. We really suggest you to download the survival guide to achieve an exceptional experience in the event, and not die triying. See ya this weekend!!
